Catherine Mae Langan

Catherine Mae (Sgarzi) Langan tragically lost her battle with cancer at the very young age of 37.  She was a loving wife and mother of four small children, all under the age of seven.

Cathy, to her family and friends, was born and raised in Newton, Massachusetts.  She was one of five children in the Sgarzi family, attended Newton North High School and Mass Bay Community College.  Cathy continued to live in Newton and at the time of her passing, in Natick with her family.  She was very involved in her community and church.

Cathy's love of life was evident as a young child.  She was an avid horsewoman, riding the largest horses at Dana Hall.  She joined her father and friends climbing the highest mountains in New England as a child.  It was from these climbs that Cathy took strength and courage into her fight against cancer.  "Her battle against cancer became her mountain to climb."

Cathy never complained during her ordeal but rather was concerned for others, her family and friends.  She reached out to others who were facing the same fight as hers.  She was an inspiration to others to "Celebrate Life."
For this reason the joining with the goals of Rosemarie Tocci and her own to help make the "Healing House" a reality, is a tribute to her life and dreams.  The Celebrate Life Foundation intends to meet the dreams of Cathy to help others in their fight against cancer, in a loving and restful "Healing House".

Join Cathy's friends and family in making this happen, by Visiting the Golf Tournament page for information about an annual event held in Cathy's memory.
