I just wanted to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support you have given over the years, to help raise funds for the Celebrate Life Foundation.
The golf event on September 10, 2010, raised over $25,000. On top of that, we received a large donation of $1,600 from Maria Gannon's employer. And Janet's close friends ran a golf event over the summer that raised $5,000 for our foundation.
But just because this was the last golf tournament, this is not a closure. Cathy will always be a part of us and we will always continue to celebrate her life. In the future we may want to continue a memorial in September, not as a fundraiser but as a get together, whether it may be a day of golf or some other event.
Cathy was always a giver. A wonderful person who had touched each and everyone of us in some special way. She was my best friend and will always be in my heart.
Our pledge of $400,000 to the Hope Lodge is due in June of 2011. And although we are currently over $320,000 towards our goal, we will need to continue to raise funds to meet our pledge. So any ideas for fundraising events would be greatly appreciated.
Again, thank you for your continued support and thank you for honoring my sister Cathy.
